Imran Khan attends National Assembly session after months

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan appeared on Thursday for the first time in many months at Parliament House to attend a National Assembly session.

According to local media reports, Khan is attending the session today to vote for the merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP). An amendment bill clearing the way for the merger of the FATA with KP is set to be presented today in the assembly.

On Wednesday, session of the parliamentary leaders chaired by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had finally agreed upon the amendment bill for the merger.

According to the proposed 30th Amendment of the Constitution, the seats for the KP assembly will increase to 147 from the current 126 after the K-P's merger with FATA.
