Sindh CM takes exception to alleged discrimination in the province
KARACHI: Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah taking strong exception to criticism traded against his government's alleged failure to serve the urban centres of the province said all attempts would be foiled to divide the province on linguistic lines.
In his concluding remarks during the current budgetary session of the house here on Tuesday, he said the province belongs to all its inhabitants and that Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has been repeatedly voted to power on basis of its service to the masses.
"People have reposed their confidence on us and we have delivered," claimed the chief minister.
He said PPP believes in serving the masses without any distinction and that people still stand by the party would be well established in the forthcoming polls 2018.
Syed Murad Ali expressing his confidence that PPP will once again manage to form its government in the province, said since the deep sense of fear and insecurity among the inhabitants of Sindh's urban centres has been eliminated hence a free and fair polls are expected here too, after a lull in some 30 years.
"Consequently you will witness that PPP will gain support and confidence of urbanites too this time," he said.
He reiterated that there was no question of any division in the province and that people had been living here since long enjoying close relations and mutual confidence.
Sindh CM also reemphasized that during past five years equal development was made in rural and urban parts of the province.
Sharing details of the progress made during the current PPP tenure, right from Karachi to Kashmore, he said every effort was also made by PPP to run the business of the house in accordance with the rules and regulations of the constitution.
More than 70 MPAs were able to express their views during the current budget session, he said mentioning that the five day session was extended to eight days, so that no member is denied of his or her right of expression.
Syed Murad Ali Shah on the occasion also referred to deductions in the funds allocated to the province under national development programme and claimed that against all odds 536 pending schemes were completed while 721 more are being completed in the current year.
"We have provided water and electricity to the areas that remained deprived of these basic facilities for years," he said.
Similarly, well equipped health care centres are accessible at every 30 kilometer distance to the children in Karachi, added the chief minister while explicitly discussing development and progress registered in the province during PPP tenure.
