Rehman Malik visits grave of Shaheed Colonel Sohail Abid, offers Fateha
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party's senior leader and Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior Senator A. Rehman Malik on Friday visited the grave of Shaheed Colonel Sohail Abid, laid a wreath and offered Fateha.
Colonel Sohail Abid embraced martyrdom in an intelligence operation in Killi Almas area of Quetta on Wednesday and was buried in his native village Bobari.
Senator A. Rehman Malik after laying the wreath at the grave of Shaheed Col. Sohail Abid visited his family and condoled with them the martyrdom of the brave son of this soil and prayed for his departed soul, said a press release here.
He met with Shaheed Col. Sohail Abid’s father and son and told them that the whole nation was proud of Colonel Sohail's sacrifice for the homeland.
He said the enemies of Pakistan could not deter the highest courage of brave soldiers in their fight against terrorism and defeat was the fate of enemies of Pakistan.
Senator A. Rehman Malik said the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI) role and sacrifices in war against terrorism was exemplary and distinguished as they had always defeated the enemies to be succeeded in their nefarious designs against our beloved country.
He said the whole nation was proud of their armed forces' sacrifices towards peaceful, happy and prosperous Pakistan.
He asked the nation and particularly the political leadership of the country to get united against the enemies, setting aside their differences and stand firmly by the Pakistan Army in the war against the enemies of Pakistan and terrorists.
Senator A. Rehman Malik said militants and terrorists of banned organizations like LeJ, SSP, TTP and Daish were working for enemies of Pakistan, adding they were not only the enemies of Pakistan, but also the enemies of the whole humanity.
While offering Fateh, the father of Shaheed Col Sohail Abid desired that the name of his village Bobari and the Angori Road may be named after “Shaheed Col Sohail Abid”.
Senator A. Rehman Malik assured the family of Shaheed Col Sohail Abid that he as Chairman Senate Standing Committee of Interior would move in the Senate of Pakistan a resolution to name the village and road after Shaheed Colonel Sohail Abid.
