Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt has stated that the relatively young Pakistan side is expected to face a number of issues in the upcoming two Tests series against England.

“The squad's inexperience in early-summer English conditions will be a big problem. Especially given the fact that we will be missing the services of Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan,” said Salman, quoted Sky News.

With the departure of Misbah and Younis, the task of leading Pakistan batting line falls on Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq. However, Salman was of the view that the batting duo ‘will need to be a lot better’ in the upcoming encounter.

"Azhar and Asad did quite well in the previous visit to England but their performances this time around will need to be a lot better and will be crucial for Pakistan's success," he said.

Pakistan picked up a relatively young side, featuring a number of debutants including domestic top performer Saad Ali. The former captain expressed delight over the selection of the 24 years old, and was of the view that the series would allow to judge the youngster ‘true potential’.

"I am pleased to see Saad being picked for this tour as that is how top domestic performers should be rewarded. Only when someone like Saad is given a chance to play international cricket can we judge his true potential and also, it is a fact that only by playing at the highest level can a talented player get the experience he needs to develop into a top-quality batsman in the future."

Pakistan will be facing England for the two Test series, with the first Test match scheduled at the historic Lord’s on May 24.
