Addressing a farewell party organized in honour of former Chief Secretary Dr Kazim Niaz, the Chief Minister said Dr Niaz was a competent, peoples-friendly, upright and honest officer and his services for the province was highly commendable.
The opposition members in National Assembly and Senate of Pakistan had demanded Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to transfer Chief Secretaries of all four provinces including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan, he said.
After that, he said, ECP had ordered Establishment Division of the Federal Government to transfer the Chief Secretaries of Azad Kashmir and GB. Hafeez said his government has played no role in transfer of Dr Kazim Niaz and propaganda of opposition on this issue was an attempt to mislead people.
He said designs of such elements to mislead people would not be succeeded.
“Dr Kazim Niaz as per vision of the GB government has played positive role in development of the province besides smoothly organizing literary programs and sports events,” he remarked.
He said new chief secretary Babar Hayat Tarar was appointed by the Federal Government as per willingness of his government strictly on merit and expressed the hope that he would utilize all his energies for development of the provinces besides solution of peoples’ problems at their doorsteps.
