One policeman martyred, several injured in Bannu blast

A policeman was martyred and 12 people were injured in an improvised explosive device blast on Friday at Bannu District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to local media reports, the blast occurred at a general bus stand. The blast impacted the surrounding cars, rickshaws and motorcycles. Rescue officials have reached the site, while investigation is under way.

The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital while there is fear that more injuries would be reported. According to initial reports, the bomb was fitted in a motorcycle and its target was a police van.
