An earthquake of magnitude of 5.5 on the richter scale jolted different parts of of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Wednesday morning.

According to local media reports, the tremors were felt in Peshawar, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and other parts. People in panic rushed out of their homes, offices and schools. However, fortunately no loss of life has been reported.

Earlier on January 31, an earthquake of magnitude of 6.1 on the richter scale jolted different cities and northern parts Pakistan. In Bela town of Lasbela, a minor girl was reportedly killed while nine others were injured as the roof of a house collapsed. State buildings, including the Supreme Court and Parliament, were also evacuated as the tremors struck.
