Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is looking forward to invite Ireland cricket team on to tour Pakistan later this year, a report suggest on Tuesday.

The Irish team is set to play its maiden Test against Sarfraz XI, will start from May 11 in Dublin.

As per report, the PCB chairman Najam Sethi would be present at the venue for the historic event. In the same game Sethi would officially invite the Irish side for the tour of Pakistan.

Ireland agreed to tour Pakistan in 2014, but later refused because of the attack on the Karachi airport.

Later, it were Zimbabwe who became the first major international side to tour the country after the attack on Sri Lankan team bus in 2009.

Since then, the International Cricket Council (ICC) World XI, Sri Lanka and West Indies have visited the country for T20I matches.

The report further states that Sethi, on the tour, will also meet the head of ICC’s Pakistan Task-Force Giles Clarke, captain Sarfraz Ahmed and coach Mickey Arthur.
