Former Pakistan batsman turned coach Ijaz Ahmed has said that Pakistan cricket management has failed to handle cricketers Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal, which has resulted in a number of problems.

"Shehzad and Akmal are not being handled in the correct way. If they could be controlled properly then there would not be so many problems" said Ijaz, quoted PakPassion.

Ijaz, who represented Pakistan in 60 Tests and 250 One Day Internationals (ODIs) scoring 3315 runs and 6564 runs, respectively, was of the view that one has to adopt different approach for every player.

"Every player has a different psyche and they need to be handled accordingly. Some players listen to soft treatment, others need a stick to get them to do well," added former Under-19 cricket team coach.

On Monday, the controversial middle order batsman Akmal had lashed out at Waqar Younis, saying that the former coach forced him to do wicket-keeping in Test matches and on refusal he was threatened to be thrown out of the team.

Meanwhile, Shehzad found himself in hot water after he was fined for inappropriate behavior at the recently concluded Pakistan Cup. Shehzad, who was leading the Balochistan side at the 50-overs domestic tournament, was fined for misbehaving with fellow teammate Rizwan Hussain, during a match against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on April 30 in Faisalabad.

The Pakistan Cup was claimed by Federal Areas after FATA outsmarted Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by five wickets in the final retaining their title in Faisalabad on Sunday.
