An official source at BZU told APP here Monday that five new departments including Agriculture Engineering, Computer Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Veterinary Sciences and Telecom Department would be set up with the grant.

He said that the fund was the last installment of Rs 970,100,000 development grant for the BZU from the HEC.

Under the project, 10 PhD scholars would be sent abroad for higher education, the source said and added that Director Planning & Development Dr Farrukh Arsalan Siddiqui had made special efforts for release of the grant during his recent visit to the HEC.

He stated that the university administration had sent several reminders for the release of the grant in the past.

The source said that the BZU faculty has welcomed the HEC step.
