The decision was taken in a meeting held here Wednesday with District Nazim, Mohammad Asim Khan in the chair. Besides, District Health Officer (DHO), Dr. Gul Mohammad, chairman Health Committee, Shamsul Bari, Member District Council, Khalid Waqas, Dr. Iqtidar Ahmad and Director Livestock, Dr. Masoom Shah also attended the meeting .

The meeting reviewed dengue prevention and steps taken in this regard so far.

Briefing the meeting, DHO Peshawar, Dr. Gul Mohammad told that since first January 2018, larva has been abolished in 2,51000 houses of sensitive union councils including Tehkal, Sheikhabad, Dinbahar, Safaid Dheri, Kakshal, Nehqi, Badhber and civil quarters.

He said that awareness campaign in these areas was in full-swing while non-governmental organization (NGO) Helping Hand is also taking effective steps in this regard.

Addressing the meeting, District Nazim, Mohammad Asim Khan expressed satisfaction over the steps and directed further acceleration in the prevention campaign against dengue and called for daily report in this regard.

Similarly, he also directed establishment of special dengue desk in all category D hospitals of the district.

The District Nazim also directed the DHO for extending full support to Helping Hand in the eradication of the dengue virus. He directed the utilization of all available resources for the eradication of dengue and registration against the negligent persons under the concerned law.
