Pakistani speedster believes not getting selected is good for Fawad Alam
Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Zahid, who was hailed among the fastest bowlers in world cricket, has termed the non-selection of Fawad Alam for tour of England and Ireland as a ‘blessing in disguise’ for the batsman. Zahid was of the view that the upcoming tour is going to be tough for the Pakistani batsman, so if Fawad would have been selected for the tour and had not performed, his chances for a return in the future would have been minimal. “If Fawad had been chosen for this tour and then failed, his chances of future selection would be gone. In a way, not being selected for the tour of England could well turn out to be a blessing in disguise for him and I do believe his chance to once again represent Pakistan will come at a later date,” Zahid said, quoted PakPassion. However, Fawad’s experience outweighs his issues with technique, said Zahid. “There is no denying the depth of his experience and the fact that Pakistan lacks some battle-hardened names in its batting order and even when we talk of technique we know that batsmen like Viv Richards, Javed Miandad and Younis Khan were not exactly great examples of having ideal batting techniques.
