Karachi University (KU) on Wednesday submitted in Sindh High Court the complete record regarding graduation degree of PPP MNA Shazia Marri. The petitioner, Atta Mohammad Chandio, a voter of Sanghar's constituency of NA-235, from where Marri was elected a member of the National Assembly in an August by-poll moved SHC seeking the disqualification of PPP MNA Shazia Marri for using a graduation degree of a Lyari woman to contest parliamentary elections since 2002.
He accused her of using the graduation degree of Shazia, a resident of Agra Taj Colony in Lyari, to submit her nomination forms to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for contesting polls since 2002. He said the university record confirmed that the impugned degree was issued to Shazia, daughter of Atta Mohammad, a student of Ronaq-e-Islam Collage for Women in Lyari. He added that Shazia's education record, including her date of birth, father's name, signature and home address, did not match Marri's given to the ECP.
