The allocated amount will be spent on 17 on-going and 9 new developmental projects to promote the agriculture and livestock sector in the country.

The government has allocated Rs 475 million for the promotion of olive cultivation commercial basis to promote the olive cultivation for fulfilling the domestic requirements of the edible oil in the country.

In PSDP 2018-19, an amount of Rs 254.743 million has been earmarked for up-gradation of Arid Zone Research Institution to the level of AZRC and establishment of new adaptive research-cum-development institutes at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA. An amount of Rs100 million each would be spent on risk based control of foot and mouth diseases in Pakistan and strengthening and up-gradation of agriculture and livestock research system of arid zone research institute Umerkot Sindh respectively.

In order to prevent and control the out break of diseases in livestock and poultry sector, the government has also allocated Rs 100.121 million for the national surveillance programme for avain influenza and new castle diseases in the country.

In new scheme, the government would spent Rs 127 million on the better cotton initiatives for sustainable cotton production in the country to promote the cotton crop output, whereas it has allocated Rs 100 million for commercialization of tissue culture technology in the country.

In order to promote the pulses production in the country, an amount of Rs 100 million has been earmarked on federal PSDP 2018-19 for promoting research for productivity enhancement in pulses.
