Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) have taken to the streets once again to protest against the current load-shedding and water shortage crisis in Karachi.

According to local media reports, roads leading to Malir ,Kalaboard and Shahra-e-Faisal were blocked due to the traffic on Friday. In order to control law and order situation, a contingent of police and Rangers were deployed at Sharae Faisal.

The roads were opened from Malir, Kala Board to the airport, as the protesters moved towards Drigh road for a sit-in. JI are also demonstrating their protest in Orangi Town, Dehli Colony and Lyari.

Terming it a 'peaceful protest', JI leader Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said they will not call off the strike and will continue to protest.

Earlier this week, Rehman had announced that they will be protesting against the persistent load-shedding that had also led to water shortage.
