Opposition parties will lodge a strong protest inside the Parliament House during the presentation of the federal budget, which will be presented on Friday afternoon.
Major political parties including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will protest against the budget that will be presented in the Senate session. Federal budget 2018-19 to be presented today
The parties say that the government should only present the budget for the next quarter, as the next government will take over after the elections that will be held in the last week of July.
The current chief ministers of Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa walked out in protest at the previous National Economic Council meeting.
Senator Sherry Rehman took to Twitter and said a government that got selected for five years is insisting on presenting a sixth budget. "Today a lame duck government will present a lame duck budget," she wrote.
