Two witnesses testify in reference against Ishaq Dar
ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court (AC) of Islamabad Wednesday adjourned hearing of a reference against former finance minister Ishaq Dar and other accused related to having assets beyond known sources of income till May 2.
AC Judge Muhammad Bashir recorded the statement of two prosecution witness Abdul Rehman Gondal and Muhammad Azeem. Accused Naeem Mehmood and Mansoor Raza were present in the court while the third accused President National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Saeed Ahmed could not appear.
During the course of proceedings, Abdul Rehman shared the details of bank accounts of former finance minister and later he was cross-examined by the defence counsel.
In response of a question, the prosecution witness said he did not know about the person, who had made transactions into the accounts of former finance minister. He, however, said the information in that regard could be collected from National Institute of Financial Transaction.
The court adjourned the case till May 2, when the defence lawyer would conduct cross-examination of of other witness Muhammad Azeem.
The court granted one-day exemption to Saeed Ahmed from appearance as his counsel informed the court that his client could not appear as he had to attend the meeting of the bank's executive board.
