Collective efforts needed to fight with dengue

Assistant Commissioner, Asher Iqbal said this in a meeting to review the activities of all government departments in connection with anti-dengue campaign here Tuesday.

AC directed WASA and RWMC to response immediately to the complaints of water ponds within city and arrange its drainage at earliest as still water was very favorable for the larva breeding.

He further directed to expedite field activities in order to curb the hotspots so that risk of dengue attack might be lessened.

Although no case has been detected yet neither any patient been reported so far however supervisory teams need to remain vigilant, he added.

He instructed Health department to ensure availability of proper medicines and treatment at hospitals also likewise fogging must be done properly and people to be encouraged to use anti-mosquito sprays.

Besides adopting all such preventive measures of destroying larva we also needed to keep a vigilant eye on the reasons that make atmosphere favorable for dengue breeding, he added.

Chief Executive Officer Health Authority Muhammad Sohail Ahmed Chaudhry, District Officer Health Dr. Abdul Jabbar, Dr Amir Sheikh, Director Social welfare Aslam Maitla, Deputy Director Education Masood Akhter and other concerned officers were also present in the meeting.

While giving detailed briefings, Dr. Sohail Chaudary CEO Health said that that micro plan for ant-dengue activities had been devised and volunteers for anti-dengue campaign were given proper training to fight with this virus. Furthermore, he added that special attention was being paid to graveyards, wastes and parks to drain out water and fogging had also being carried out to avert dengue.
