"The central bank financial result for 2017 was negative, it was 2.5 billion zlotys," Katarzyna Zajdel-Kurowska was quoted as saying in an interview published on bank's website.

Under Polish law, most of the central bank's profit is transferred to the state budget. There is no contribution if the bank books a loss.
