Three female students became the targets of an acid attack in Gujrat, Punjab, as a motorcycle carrying three men threw acid on them.

The three students of University of Gujrat were waiting at a bus stop to go to their varsity when the men stopped and threw acid on them. Two out of the three students are sisters. All the three victims were rushed to a hospital where they are under treatment.

According to local media reports, the two sister's uncle and his friend along with another person were the ones who threw acid on them. They were attack because one of the girl's had refused a marriage proposal.

The third suspect has been taken into custody and is being questioned, while search for the victim's uncle and his friend  is under way.

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident and has demanded a report as well as immediate arrest of the criminals.
