Shahid Afridi’s post on the recent wave of bloodshed in Indian held Kashmir that claimed dozens of lives at the hands of Indian armed forces have drawn ire from India, as cricketers from the other side of the border continue to criticize the Pakistani star all-rounder.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli was the latest to join the bandwagon of Indian cricketers and lashed out at Afridi for raising his voice against the atrocities of Indian armed forces.

"As an Indian you want to express what is best for your nation and my interests are always for the benefit of our nation. If anything opposes it, I would never support it for sure," ANI quoted Kohli as saying.

"But having said that, it's a very personal choice for someone to comment about certain issues. Unless I have total knowledge of the issues and the intricacies of it I don't engage in it but definitely your priority stays with your nation," he added.

“Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir. Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self determination and independence. Wonder where is the UN and other international bodies and why aren't they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?” Afridi posted on social media.

The post didn’t sit well with the many, as cricketers including Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina and others were quick to criticize Afridi on social media.

The star all-rounder has previously voiced his support for Kashmiri during the 2016 World T20 when he said that a lot of support for their team came from people of Kashmir.
