Expressing concerns over delay in execution of the projects, Chairman of the committee Abdul Majeed Khan Kanankhail said by the end of current fiscal year the allocate fund must be utilized on all 31 gas supply schemes across the country.
Dr Nafeesa Shah pointed out that most of the schemes were to be launched in Central Punjab or some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkwha, however despite being one of the most gas production area, her district was being neglected in this regard. She suggested that the gas should be provided to all areas of the country on equal basis without any political influences.
Meanwhile briefing on Khyber Institute of Child Health and Children Hospital Peshawar, the official of Health department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa informed the committee that due to small allocation for the project, it could not be completed on time.
The meeting was informed that due to delay in the project, the cost had increased from initial Rs 2 billion to Rs 3.5 billion.
The meeting was further informed that so far 80 percent work on the project had been completed. The meeting was also attended by MNAs Syed Athar Hussain Shah Gillani, Shaheen Shafiq, Shazia Sohail Mir, Shams-un-Nisa, Junaid Akbar, Sheikh Salahuddin, Sher Akbar Khan, and Iftikhar-ud-Din.
