Pakistan cricket captain turned commentator Ramiz Raja has called for Pakistani citizenship for Pakistan Super League (PSL) Man of the Tournament Luke Ronchi.

“Ronchi always plays in the leagues and does not represent any country, so I believe he should be offered Pakistani citizenship and he should come here and open for us, otherwise he would be wasted if he continued to play league cricket,” said Raja, at Raja Speaks. “Come in Pakistan and open for us,” he added.

The Kiwi blaster powered his side to the PSL title after hitting a blistering half-century as he anchored Islamabad United to a three-wicket win over defending champion Peshawar Zalmi in the final on Sunday in Karachi.

The Islamabad United opening batsman emerged as the most successful batsman of the season, with 435 runs in 11 matches. His performance at the tournament won him several accolades including the Man of the Match and Man of the Series award.

The Islamabad United clinched their second PSL title after beating defending champions Peshawar Zalmi by three wickets with 19 deliveries remaining at the final in Karachi last Sunday.
