United's Luke Ronchi reveals his PSL success secrets
New Zealand opening batsman Luke Ronchi has become a heartthrob in Pakistan, after his fearless batting display single-handedly took the Islamabad United straight into the finals of Pakistan Super League (PSL). The Kiwi blaster was instrumental in the rise of United, which went on to top the PSL points table with 14 points and crushed Karachi Kings in the qualifier to book their place in the finals for the second time. Being the highest run scorer in PSL this season with 383 runs in 10 matches including three fifties, Ronchi revealed ‘calmness’ as his secret of success that he attributed to his skipper Misbah Ul Haq. “I try and relax as much as possible and just chill out by not thinking about cricket too much. I believe that if you think too much about the game the whole day your brain will get tired before you can even get to the game. So I turn up with a clear mind and confident of what you are doing and happy in what you are doing and it worked out in the end,” said Ronchi, quoted Gulf News. “It flows from him [Misbah] that calmness in him,” he added. Ronchi will be visiting Karachi alongside his United mates for the PSL finals, the opening batsman expressed that he doesn’t want to face Karachi Kings in the finals as he wants so that they can get the crowd support. “It is going to be a massive crowd out there [in Karachi] and hope we don’t play against Karachi [Kings] so we may get support around,” he added.
