Pakistan ranks 80th as the world’s happiest country, surpasses neighboring countries
The United Nation (UN) released its annual World Happiness Report on Wednesday and Pakistan has jumped up five spots from last year’s report and ranks 75th out of 156 countries.
According to the UN report, Pakistan surpassed its neighboring countries, India (133), China (86), Afghanistan (145) and Iran (106) whereas, Finland outdid every country and ranked at first position.
The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network’s (SDSN) 2018 World Happiness Report ranked the happiest countries based on GDP per capita, healthy life expectancy, absence of corruption, social support, generosity and social freedom.
Pakistan including other countries is considered happy as they have low inequality, confidence in government, healthy balance of prosperity, having a high degree of trust in a society. This report is aimed to help the countries supply another means for businesses, governments and civil societies in order to create a better wellbeing.
The report further mentioned that the United States stood at 18th position, dropping down from last year’s 14th. Britain was ranked 19th, followed by United Arab Emirates that ranked 20th, according to Reuters.
