Security forces killed 11 terrorists in separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Balochistan’s Kharan and Washuk districts, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were conducted on September 6 and 7 against terrorists belonging to what it described as the Indian proxy Fitna al Hindustan.
On September 6, security forces intercepted terrorists attempting to establish a roadblock and disrupt traffic in Kharan district, killing eight terrorists.
In another intelligence-based operation conducted in Washuk district on September 7, security forces busted a terrorist hideout and killed three terrorists following an intense exchange of fire, the ISPR said.
Security forces also recovered 2.9 tonnes of explosives, which were being used for the preparation of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Sanitisation operations are underway to eliminate any other terrorists in the area, the ISPR said.
It added that the country’s counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace to eliminate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
