- The alleged motive behind the reports.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Monday denied reports of his engagement with a woman identified as “Princess Gloria”, saying he did not know anyone by that name.
“I want to make it clear that neither has the match been finalised nor have I got engaged,” Bilawal said. “I clarify that nothing as such has taken place; neither do I know any Princess Gloria.”
PPP chairman’s clarification video came after reports had circulated that he was preparing to marry into a European family.
Reports had also claimed that President Asif Ali Zardari - Bilawal’s father - had travelled to Liechtenstein to discuss and set a date for his son’s wedding.
However, PPP chairman refuted the report, saying social media spectacles were hyped up to divert the public’s attention from actual issues.
Earlier, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, who also serves as Bilawal’s spokesperson, took to X to dismiss reports concerning the PPP chairman’s engagement or marriage, describing them as “incorrect and unfounded.”
