Sri Lankan shares fall as healthcare, IT stocks drag

Sri Lankan shares closed lower on Wednesday, falling for third straight session, due to losses in healthcare and information technology stocks.
The CSE All Share index settled down 0.29% at 21,416.57.
Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon PLC and Amana Takaful Life PLC were the top percentage losers on the CSE All Share index
Trading volume on the CSE All Share index fell to 43.9 million shares from 80.2 million in the previous session.
The equity market’s turnover fell to 1.54 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($4.6 million) from 2.04 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net buyers, purchasing stocks worth 274.3 million rupees, while domestic investors were net sellers, offloading shares worth 1.37 billion rupees, the data showed.
