Sri Lankan shares close lower on losses in communication, healthcare stocks

Sri Lankan shares closed lower on Tuesday, snapping a four-session winning streak, due to losses in communication services and healthcare stocks.

The CSE All Share index eased 0.07% to 21,402.80.

SMB Finance and Cargo Boat Development Co were the top percentage losers on the CSE All Share index, falling 10% and 6.32%, respectively.

Trading volume on the CSE All Share index fell to 47.1 million shares from 123.9 million in the previous session.

The equity market’s turnover fell to 1.52 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($4.54 million) from 3.81 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.

Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 412.5 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 1.47 billion rupees, the data showed.
