LAHORE: The Spot Rate Committee of the Karachi Cotton Association on Thuursday decreased the spot rate by Rs 500 per maund, bringing it down to Rs19,000 per maund by the close of trading.
Speaking to Business Recorder, cotton analyst Naseem Usman stated that the market remained easy, with trading volume remained satisfactory.
Usman further noted that cotton prices in Sindh currently range between Rs18,600 and Rs19,000 per maund, while Phutti in the province is trading between Rs 8,800 to Rs9,300 per 40 kilograms. In Punjab, cotton rates stand between Rs19,025 to Rs 19,075 per maund, with Phutti fetching between Rs9,300 and Rs9,800 per 40 kilograms.
In terms of regional trading activity across Sindh, 1,400 bales from Sanghar, 22,00 bales from Tando Adam were sold at prices ranging between Rs18,500 to Rs 19,000 per maund, 800 bales of Shahdad Pur were sold in between Rs 18,700 to Rs 19,000 per maund, 2200 bales of Tando Adam were sold in between Rs 18,500 to Rs 19, 000 per maund, 200 bales of Mir Pur Khas were sold at Rs 19,000 per maund, 400 bales of Hyderabad were sold at Rs 18,500 per maund and 200 bales of Nauabad were sold at Rs 18,700 per maund.
In Punjab, 400 bales of Vehari were sold between Rs 19,200 to Rs 19,600 per maund and 100 bales of Vehari were sold at Rs 19,300 per maund.
