During a special meeting with President Pezeshkian, discussions focused on efforts to lower regional tensions and support diplomatic channels aimed at restoring stability. The leaders deliberated upon the diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the US-Iran conflict.
Ghalibaf and Araghchi were also present during the engagement.
Field Marshal Munir also held separate talks with Ghalibaf.
Discussions reportedly touched on the ongoing dialogue and wider diplomatic developments involving Iran and the United States, with particular attention on regional security dynamics.
“We will never compromise on the rights of our nation and our country, particularly with a party that has demonstrated neither honesty nor trustworthiness,” Ghalibaf stated.
He added that the Islamic Republic had defended the country decisively on the battlefield and would pursue the same determination in diplomacy.
“Just as the Islamic Republic of Iran defended the nation courageously and powerfully on the battlefield, it will also act wisely and resolutely on the diplomatic front to safeguard Iran’s legitimate rights and national interests,” he said.
Highlighting the role of armed forces in preserving peace and national dignity, Ghalibaf remarked: “Military personnel understand the value of peace better than anyone else, but they will never allow the honour and rights of their country to be violated.”
Referring to previous negotiations with Washington, the Iranian parliament speaker said: “We were engaged in negotiations when the United States launched the war, and now it claims it seeks negotiations to end it. We were in a ceasefire — with Pakistan serving as mediator — yet the United States violated its commitments, imposed a naval blockade, and is now seeking a way to lift it.”
He further warned that Iran’s armed forces had significantly strengthened their capabilities during the ceasefire period. “Our armed forces have rebuilt and reinforced themselves during the ceasefire in such a way that, should Trump make the mistake of reigniting the war, the consequences for the United States would undoubtedly be far more devastating and bitter than on the first day of the conflict,” Ghalibaf said.
For his part, Field Marshal Asim Munir said, “The government and people of Pakistan extend their best wishes and prayers for the future prosperity and well-being of the Iranian people.”
Emphasising the honest nature of military professionals, CDF Munir added: “You and I are both soldiers of our nations, and soldiers speak plainly and honestly — not in ambiguity.” He further praised Iran’s leadership, saying: “I am pleased that Iran is being led at this critical time by individuals of intelligence, wisdom, and deep strategic insight.” Earlier in the visit, the top military commander met Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi, where both sides exchanged views on reducing tensions across the region, promoting peace and stability, and supporting diplomatic initiatives concerning the security landscape in West Asia.
According to an Iranian government statement posted on X platform on Saturday, Field Marshal Asim Munir met FM Abbas Araghchi in Tehran to discuss diplomatic efforts aimed at preventing further escalation and promoting peace, stability, and security in West Asia.
