Sri Lankan shares rise on real estate, energy, healthcare stock gains

Sri Lankan shares closed higher on Thursday, led by real estate, energy and healthcare stocks.

The CSE All Share index settled up 1.1% at 22,997.86

Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC and SMB Finance PLC were the top percentage gainers on the CSE All Share index, rising 40% and 37.5%, respectively

Trading volume on the CSE All Share index jumped to 514.5 million shares from 377 million in the previous session

The equity market’s turnover rose to 5.28 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($16.4 million) from 4.13 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data

Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 269.8 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 5.03 billion rupees, the data showed
