The Board of Directors of Habib Bank Limited (HBL), one of Pakistan’s largest commercial banks, has approved the reappointment of its president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Muhammad Nassir Salim, for a further two-year term.
“The Board of Directors of HBL is pleased to appoint Muhammad Nassir Salim as president and CEO of HBL, for a further term of two years, w.e.f. April 30, 2026, subject to all applicable regulatory approvals,” the bank said in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday.
Back in 2024, Nassir Salim was appointed HBL President and CEO following Muhammad Aurangzeb’s resignation.
As per information available on the HBL website, Nassir is a seasoned banker with 36 years of banking experience in the USA, Middle East and Pakistan.
He has been associated with HBL since 2017 and served on the positions of Chief Operating Officer, Head Branch & Islamic Banking and Head Global Operations.
He has an MBA (Finance) from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi, and is a fellow of the Institute of Bankers Pakistan. Currently, he is a member of the Executive Committee of Pakistan Banks’ Association and a director on the Board of HBL Zarai Services Limited.
