LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has congratulated the newly elected President of the Lahore Press Club, Arshad Ansari, and other office-bearers, extending her best wishes to them.
In her congratulatory message, the chief minister also felicitated Senior Vice President Salman Qureshi, Vice Presidents Nasir H. Atiq and Madiha Almas, General Secretary Afzal Talib, Joint Secretary Imran Sheikh and Finance Secretary Salik Nawaz on their election.
She further congratulated newly elected members of the Governing Body, including Alfat Hussain Mughal, Asad Mahmood, Ahmed Raza, Sarmad Farrukh, Rabia Azmat, Badr Saeed, Sajjad Kazmi, Zaheer Sheikh, Kamran Khan and Asher Jan.
CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed the hope that the Lahore Press Club would continue its long-standing journalistic traditions and play its role in promoting responsible journalism.
She said the Punjab government wanted to work closely with the media in its mission to serve the people of the province.
The chief minister also reiterated the government’s commitment to providing full support to journalists, including assistance in housing initiatives for the journalist community.
