KE, Naya Nazimabad ink MoU for 132kV grid station

KARACHI: Naya Nazimabad and K-Electric (KE) have signed an agreement to build a 132 kV grid station in housing society. The grid station, in compliance of Nepra CSM and as a Sponsor Dedicated Distribution System – would culminate with one of the city’s largest capacities for a private housing society, reaching up to 189MW.

In the first phase, the grid will energise 60 MW of peak energy which will be enhanced to 189 MW in the second phase. The grid station will cater to the growing energy needs of Naya Nazimabad’s residents and commercial establishments, reinforcing KE’s commitment to powering progress and enabling modern living standards. Unlike traditional dedicated setups, the grid offers shared infrastructure benefits, optimised distribution, and enhanced reliability for thousands of households and businesses within the community.

The 132 kV grid station also supports Naya Nazimabad’s long-term expansion plans, including residential, commercial, and recreational facilities.
