Seven ‘Indian sponsored’ terrorists killed in Balochistan IBO: ISPR
Security forces have killed seven “Indian sponsored” terrorists in Sherani district of Balochistan, the military’s media wing reported on Friday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted an intelligence based operation (IBO) on October 1 in Sherani district, on reported presence of terrorists belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna al Khwarij.
“During the conduct of operation, own forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, and after an intense fire exchange, seven Indian sponsored terrorists were sent to hell,” the ISPR said.
It said weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.

Sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area, as “the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian sponsored terrorism from the country, and reaffirm the nation’s unwavering resolve to bring the perpetrators of terrorism to justice.”
PM Shehbaz lauds security forces
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif praised security forces for neutralising seven India-backed militants in Sherani, the PM Office said on Friday.
He said the militants — responsible for harming the lives and property of innocent and unarmed civilians — had been decisively defeated.
“We will uproot the scourge of terrorism,” the prime minister said, adding that the government and security forces are determined to eliminate terrorism from the country.
He warned that elements seeking to damage Pakistan’s territorial integrity will not be allowed to succeed.
Earlier, the military’s media wing said on October 1, security forces killed 13 terrorists and arrested four others in multiple IBOs across Balochistan over the past two days.
The ISPR had said four terrorists were apprehended in Khuzdar district on October 1, while attempting to escape disguised in women’s attire.
“Weapons and ammunition were recovered from their possession,” the ISPR said, adding the detained terrorists were involved in several attacks in the area.
Pakistan has in the last few years seen a rise in cross-border terror attacks, especially in Afghanistan’s neighbouring provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Islamic State-K commander involved in 2022 Peshawar bombing killed
In August, Pakistan experienced its deadliest month of militant violence in more than a decade, recording 143 attacks that killed 194 people and injured 231, Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) said earlier this month in its report.
The report said though violence was experienced in Sindh, Punjab, and Gilgit-Baltistan, but Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan bore the most brunt.
“Militants not only intensified their frequency of attacks but also diversified tactics, with sharp increases in guerrilla assaults, targeted killings, IED and grenade attacks, and even a single suicide bombing, reflecting renewed momentum by the militant groups,” it said.
In response, the report said, security forces stepped up counterterrorism operations, conducting 41 actions nationwide that killed at least 100 militants and led to 31 arrests.
“The deadliest operations occurred in Balochistan, where 50 militants, including key BLA and BLF commanders, were eliminated, while intense operations in KP and former FATA killed 48 militants but also resulted in civilian and security casualties. Intelligence-led raids in Sindh, Punjab, AJK, and ICT produced arrests with minimal losses, underscoring a more lethal and proactive security posture amid escalating conflict dynamics,” it maintained.
