Apex body to rename around 60 buildings attributed to Altaf Hussain

The Sindh Apex Committee has decided to rename buildings dedicated to the founding chief of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain.

In its 22nd meeting, the Sindh Apex Committee observed that Altaf did not deserve to have any kind of honor or memorial as he was against the state. The meeting, presided by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, resolved that Altaf and his family members did not deserve to have any building dedicated to them. Thus, the committee decided to rename more than 60 buildings dedicated to them.

The meeting was attended by provincial ministers Sohail Anwar Siyal, Syed Nasir Shah, Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, Corps Commander of Karachi Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza,Pakistan Rangers Sindh Director General Major General Mohammad Saeed, Chief Secretary Rizwan Memon and senior civil and military officials.

During the meeting, other important agendas were also discussed. These agendas included  Karachi Safe City Project, detention powers under the Anti-Terrorism Act, cybercrime, madaris law draft, issues of land grabbing, security of banks,trial of street crime cases, standard registration number plates and other issues.
