Provincial Minister for Minerals, Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor said that Minerals Department will construct a labour colony consisting of 100 houses with all basic facilities for mine workers in district Khushab. He said the Miners' Labour Colony will be set up at Padrar, District Khushab, at a cost of Rs 236 million.
Fifty houses will be constructed in the first phase on which work will be started during the current year. He said the project of Mines Rescue Area Substation Minara in District Chakwal is in the final stages of completion from where rescue services would soon be started. He said this project has been completed at a cost of Rs 40 million. Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor said that Punjab government is taking all possible steps for the welfare of mine workers and more projects of workers welfare would be launched in future.
