The Supreme Court (SC) dismissed on Monday a review petition filed by Shahrukh Jatoi  pertaining to his arrest in the Shahzeb Khan murder case.

During the court proceedings, Lateef Khosa counsel for Jatoi, objected saying that injustice had been done to his client. Justice Asif Saeed Khosa told him that the Sindh High Court (SHC) cannot overturn the SC's verdict. He added that the apex court can overturn any verdict which is not in compliance with the law, local media reported.

On February 1, the SC had dismissed SHC's decision and ordered a retrial of the Shahzeb's murder case. The apex court further ordered immediate arrest of Jatoi and other suspects. The accused were then taken into custody.

Last year in November, SHC had dismissed the death sentences given to Jatoi and others and had ordered a fresh trial by sessions court.
