Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has warned that all those who will not support deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will face the consequences.

Addressing the media outside Punjab Assembly on Saturday morning, Marriyum said that all those who had deserted Sharif faced embarrassment. The minister said Sharif served the people of the country and the people followed him, local media reported.

Claiming that not a single charge of corruption was proved against Sharif, she said, "Nawaz will come out as the winner in today’s elections."

Meanwhile, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah also expressed confidence that Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz will win all the 12 Senate seats from Punjab. The law minister also maintained that the mutual bond and affection between Sharif and the people could not be damaged at any cost.

He further said that the opposition cold bag a seat if they united and support a candidate. "We are hopeful that we will win all the general seats as well," he added.

The Senate elections are underway in the National Assembly and all four provincial assemblies. The voting time will end at 4pm today.
