RAWALPINDI: At least four people were injured when a cylinder exploded inside an ice factory here on Tuesday.

According to details, the cylinder exploded in an ice factory established in Gawalmandi while poisonous gas spread in the area.

The discharge of ammonia gas continued for hours after the blast which caused severe breathing problem for the residents.

According to area residents, the rescue teams didn’t reach on time while the fire brigade controlled the fire after a hard toil. One injured worker who got stuck in the factory was also rescued by the local people.

The injured were later shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) in critical condition.
