Hong Kong shares sharply higher at lunch

HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks finished Wednesday's morning session more than one percent higher following a record on Wall Street, with attention now on the start of the corporate earnings season.

The Hang Seng Index rallied 1.24 percent, or 352.75 points, to 28,850.00.
