‘PDM will never get NRO,’ says Punjab CM

LAHORE: Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said on Wednesday that the PDM is running from pillar to post for an NRO but they will never get it as long as the PM Imran Khan is there.

“The opposition’s campaign is directionless as protection of self-interest is their lone agenda; the people will not be deceived by unscrupulous elements as the economy has been put on the right track,” the CM said in a statement.

Expressing satisfaction that the economy is recovering despite the corona pandemic, he said the people need development and prosperity. The 220 million people of Pakistan have already shown their disinterest towards futile agitation and they will not allow anybody to hinder the composite development process, he added.

On the other hand, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar while talking to Talat Naqvi, a PTI legislator and delegations from different districts at Governor House, said the PDM is now looking for a safe passage, as all its plans will flop and the next Chairman of the Senate will also be from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

“All allies of the incumbent government including PML(Q) are united and the PTI will succeed in the Senate elections,” he said, adding: “The announcement of the opposition’s long march will eventually become long and these people will not be able to hold a long march.”

Moreover, Special Assistant to CM on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said the umbrella alliance of PDM is composed of the “alligators of corruption” which had weakened the country’s foundations in their respective tenure.
