ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Furniture Association (PFA) has called upon the government to equally treat local and global furniture manufacturers, saying despite a ban on exhibitions and gatherings over 300 people across the country, some influential furniture manufacturers are holding three-day exhibition in Islamabad.

Talking to media here on Friday at the National Press Club, the officer-bearers of the Pakistan Furniture Association said that the deputy commissioner Islamabad has cancelled a no objection certificate (NOC) issued to the furniture exhibition organisers but the organisers did not follow the official orders, and have continued exhibition.

They said that if influential groups were free to hold any event attended by thousands of people, so why common traders and businessmen were compelled to follow SOPs in the name of coronavirus restrictions.
