Newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, ISPR reported on Monday.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), both discussed matters of mutual interest, including regional security during the meeting.

The two noted “exceptional relations” between both countries and pledged to further improve the same. The visiting dignitary acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s contributions to conflict prevention in the region, military’s media wing Twitted.

Earlier in the month, the envoy met Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi at the Foreign Office in Islamabad. Qureshi congratulated Rong over taking over as China’s ambassador to Pakistan.
