ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President, Maryam Nawaz has said that “some” people are “misinterpreting” the interview of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari in which he had expressed ‘shock’ over Nawaz Sharif’s criticism of the state institutions.

“We – myself, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PPP and PML-N – all know that ‘some’ people needed it to misinterpret it and we also know as to why they are doing this,” she told reporters upon arrival at the Islamabad Airport from Gilgit-Baltistan.

She said that ‘some’ people needed it to misinterpret Bilawal’s remarks in his recent interview.

“We know it very well as to who and why are they doing [misinterpreting] this,” Maryam stated in response to a question.

To another question, she said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif would indeed comeback to Pakistan.

“Nawaz Sharif’s real destination and place is Pakistan, [and] he will definitely comeback to Pakistan,” she added.

Maryam, who was in Gilgit-Baltistan for her party’s electioneering, arrived here Saturday to attend a meeting of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) to be held Sunday (Nov 8).

Nawaz Sharif would also participate in the meeting via a video link.

The meeting, to be chaired by the PDM President and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, would discuss the prevailing political situation of the country as well as the situation arising out of Bilawal’s recent interview.

The sources said that the meeting would also discuss the PDM’s future course of action as well as its upcoming rally in Peshawar on November 22nd.

Earlier on Monday, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government had urged the PDM to postpone its rally in larger public interest following the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) issuing terror threat alert for the provincial capital.
