NAB office attack case: PML-N MPA arrested from Lahore

Updated 07 Nov, 2020

Punjab Police on Saturday arrested Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Khawaja Imran Nazir from Lahore for not obtaining a bail in a case pertaining on NAB's Lahore office attack.

PML-N workers attacked the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) office in August during Maryam Nawaz’s appearance to record statement in a case pertaining to alleged illegal acquisition of land in Raiwind.

In the attack, 13 police officials were injured after which a case was registered against PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz, party MPAs, MNAs and other workers.

The police had taken the PML-N MPA in its custody by identifying his car with the help of Lahore’s safe city cameras.

He was taken to Faisal Town police station for interrogations.

Taking to Twitter, PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz termed the arrest a "preemptive attack" before the upcoming Lahore rally.

"PML-N Lahore Secretary General Khwaja Imran Nazeer has been arrested. Make no mistake, this arrest is a preemptive attack before upcoming Lahore jalsa which they know will be the last nail in their coffin," claimed Maryam.
