****Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz has rejected reports regrading privatisation of Pakistan Television (PTV) by terming them baseless.****

In a statement, the minister said that the national channel is being restructured as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and reports of it’s privatisation are unfounded.

The minister added that government is in the process of hiring new board members to run the organisation.

It is pertinent to mention here that, a list of 18 state-owned entities to be privatised was presented in the Senate recently.

Initially, 18 institutions were on the government privatisation programme’s list but recently more names were added, including PTV’s.

The list also includes Roosevelt Hotel in New York owned by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM).
