Maryam meets Shehbaz, says PTI govt will have to suffer standards they are setting

(Karachi) In a show of unity, PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz reached an accountability court in Lahore and met her uncle Shehbaz Sharif and cousin Hamza Shahbaz, ARY News reported.

As per details, Maryam Nawaz, accompanied by PML-N Secretary-General Ahsan Iqbal, arrived at NAB court on the hearing of money laundering case against Shehbaz Sharif. Scores of PML-N workers welcomed Maryam shouting slogans in favour of the party.

During the meeting, Maryam and Shehbaz inquired each other's health and discussed various matters including country’s political situation and the upcoming elections in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Speaking to media after the meeting, Maryam said that those who are hatching conspiracies against the PML-N have got the message that we are together".

"This family is united and will remain united," the PML-N leader added. Referring to Prime Minister Imran Khan-led government, she said no one is "as terrified of the democratic leadership as they are".

She remarked, "The PTI-led government "will have to suffer the standards that they are setting for others." Maryam maintained that the PML-N would win the elections in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Remand extended

The accountability court extended the judicial remand of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leaders Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Shehbaz, and other arrested accused.

As per the details, the court fixed November 11 for the indictment of the accused. The court has decided to indict Shehbaz and his family on November 11 in a money laundering case.

Lahore Accountability Court had sent Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif to the Kot Lakhpat Jail on 14-day judicial remand.
