Director-General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar said on Thursday that the Pakistan Army in response to a violation of its airspace gave India 'a bloody nose and it is still hurting.'

Addressing a presser today, the DG ISPR said that the presser had a one-point agenda in which wants to correct the record regarding the day Pakistan downed two Indian planes and captured Indian pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan.

He said following the attack on Indian troops in occupied Kashmir's Pulwama area last year, India violated Pakistan's airspace. He continued that Pakistan armed forces' alert and timely response foiled their attempt. He said they fled after they were confronted by our planes and dropped their payload on empty mountains.

The DG ISPR continued that they were in such a panicked state that the Indian Air Force shot down its own helicopter. They not only faced defeat but humiliation all over the world, the DG ISPR said.

He added that Indian leadership had attributed their forces' failure to the absence of Rafale fighter jets and later started putting pressure to purchase more Rafale planes.

The DG ISPR said the decision to release Abhinandan was in line with Geneva Convention. He said people should refrain from making irresponsible statements as it a threat to national security. "No one can divide Pakistan Army’s leadership, rank and file," the DG ISPR said.
